In order to promote education among the children of our members, the Board of Directors of Rafael Carrión, Jr. Savings and Credit Cooperative has decided to establish the SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN OF MEMBERS.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a child, unmarried, and legal dependent of an active member of the Cooperative, aged 24 or younger during the evaluation period.
  2. Must be pursuing studies leading to an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution.
  3. Must maintain a cumulative GPA and GPA for the evaluation period of 3.00 or higher.
  4. Must be a full-time student throughout the entire evaluation period and have completed a minimum of 24 university credits annually.
  5. For university students requiring an internship for graduation, this will be considered as having completed 12 credits; necessary evidence must be provided for approval.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. The evaluation period will be from June of last year to June of this year.
  2. Students taking correspondence courses or courses not leading to an Associate or Bachelor's degree will not qualify.
  3. The member must have been a Cooperative member for at least one uninterrupted year at the time of applying for the scholarship, and both the member and their spouse must be current on all obligations with the Cooperative.
  4. Students who have received a scholarship under the Rafael Carrión, Jr. Scholarship Fund from the Banco Popular Foundation for the same evaluation period will be disqualified.
  5. Any incomplete application and/or lacking required documents will be disqualified.
  6. All documents received will become property of the Cooperative, except for the copy of the tax return and birth certificate, which will be returned after evaluation by the Auditor.
